We guitar players are all looking for a better guitar tone. And we are willing to go to ridiculous lengths for it!
It's quite typical for a guitar player in 'tone search mode' to get attacks of Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS) where he (we?) buy new gear in the hope to finally strike gold and get the tone.
At the same time, it's also well known among pros that gear can only take you so far, and that there are ways to change your guitar tone without even touching your amp or pedals.
Today we will see together three tricks to make your tone sound different. All those are zero cost and you can apply them immediately. Just watch the video and plug in your amp.
To keep the video honest, I set up my gear (amp, pedals, mic) at the beginning of the video and then I leave them alone. Any difference in tone you hear is due to the tricks I'm showing you:
Of course, those tricks will have a different impact on different gear. Try them, let me know if you like how you sound with them, and if you have any other interesting tricks like these, share them in the comments!
